James Lafferty is best known for his portrayal of Nathan Scott on The CW Teen Drama television series ONE TREE HILL.
He was born in raised in Hemet, California where he attended Hemet High School and played basketball for the Bulldogs, even earning the MVP award. He has been steadily working since the age of 6 when his mother encouraged him and his brother Stuart to act as a hobby. At age ten, he received his first speaking part, followed by a role on the short lived television series EMERIL as Emeril Lagasse's son. James also made guest appearances on ONCE AND AGAIN (as Tad) and BOSTON PUBLIC. He also had a role in the ESPN movie SEASON ON THE BRINK, a basketball movie about the Indiana Hoosiers, where he was able to demonstrate his basketball skills. He graduated in 2003 from Hemet High and was enrolled at Cal State Long Beach before he started working on ONE TREE HILL in North Carolina.
James will star in NBC's new series CRISIS alongside Gillian Anderson, Rachael Taylor, and Dermot Mulroney. This conspiracy thriller is about a newbie Secret Service agent, Marcus Finley (Lance Gross), whose first day on the job incites an international incident when the president's son and several classmates are kidnapped. Lafferty is set to star as Mr. Nash, the private school teacher who was abducted with his students.
