X-Files, Bleak House, Great Expectations
Gillian Anderson achieved international recognition for her role as Special Agent Dana Scully on the American television series THE X-FILES. During the show's nine seasons, Gillian won Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild awards.

Gillian is also in three upcoming films: James Marsh's award-winning thriller, SHADOW DANCER which was filmed in Ireland alongside Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough; Ursula Meier's Swiss drama SISTER which was awarded a Special Mention Silver Bear at the Berlinale 2012 Film Festival and a Golden Athena for Best Picture at the Athens 2012 International Film Festival; and MR. MORGAN'S LAST LOVE with Michael Caine, Clemence Poesy, and Justin Kirk.
In the BBC mini-series adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic BLEAK HOUSE, Gillian starred as Lady Dedlock and the critically-acclaimed performance earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards in 2006 and at the Emmys and Golden Globes; she won the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Actress.
In 2010, she played Ahab's wife, Elizabeth, in Michael Barker's television series MOBY DICK alongside Ethan Hawke and William Hurt. Other television credits include ANY HUMAN HEART (Bafta 2011 nomination for her portrayal of the Duchess of Windsor); Michel Faber's psychological thriller THE CRIMSON PETAL AND THE WHITE (April 2011, BBC2) with Romola Garai and Chris O'Dowd; BBC's GREAT EXPECTATIONS with Douglas Booth and Ray Winstone (2012 Broadcasting Press Guild Award & Satellite Award nominations for her portrayal of Miss Havisham); and was the Witch's voice in BBC's ROOM ON THE BROOM which won the Children's Programme category at the 2012 Royal Television Society's Programme Awards.
Next month in the UK (May 2013) sees Gillian take the lead role in THE FALL with Jamie Dornan and Archie Panjabi. In this five-part Belfast-based BBC thriller, she plays Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson who is brought in to catch a serial killer (no release date yet in the USA).
In Bryan Fuller's NBC serial-killer thriller HANNIBAL (premiered on April 4, 2013), Gillian plays murderous psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) own therapist in a multi-episode arc.
Gillian is currently filming an untitled NBC Rand Ravich conspiracy thriller drama pilot alongside Rachael Taylor and Dermot Mulroney.
Gillian made her London stage debut in Michael Weller's WHAT THE NIGHT IS FOR in 2002 and then went on to continued success and critical acclaim in the Royal Court's production of Rebecca Gillman's play THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL in 2005. In 2009, she received an Olivier award nomination for her portrayal of Nora in Zinnie Harris' adaptation of A DOLL'S HOUSE at London's prestigious West End theatre, The Donmar Warehouse.
Over the last 17 years Gillian has been involved in several charity organizations - as an honorary spokesperson for The Neurofibromatosis Network; a founding member of SA-YES; and as a board member of Artists for a New South Africa among many others.
