José Villarrubia (born in Madrid, Spain) is an artist who has done considerable work in the American comic book industry, particularly as a colorist.
He is best know with his collaboration with acclaimed comic book writer Alan Moore in the series Promethea and the books Voice of the Fire and The Mirror of Love.
He is currently coloring Conan the Cimmerian and Kull for Dark Horse Comics.
José has won the Comicdom Award for best colorist for his work on X-Factor, has been nominated twice for the Eisner Award for best colorist and has been included in The Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition.
