Mitch Pileggi is an actor best known for playing FBI assistant director Walter Skinner in The X-Files.

He played Colonel Stephen Caldwell on Stargate Atlantis and has guest starred in a number of television shows such as CSI, Cold Case, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, The West Wing, Brothers & Sisters, Criminal Minds, and Castle.

Mitch has had other recurring roles in Grey's Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, Medium, and he played Sam and Dean Winchester's maternal grandfather, Samuel Campbell in Supernatural.

This summer, he'll be seen in TNT's new version of Dallas.
