Gillian Anderson is a film, television, and stage actress best known for her roles as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in The X-Files, Lily Bart in The House of Mirth, and Lady Dedlock in the BBC television series Bleak House.
For her portrayal as Dana Scully, she won an Emmy and two Screen Actors Guild awards. In 2000 she won a Best Actress-British Independent Film Award for her work in The House of Mirth. And in 2006 she won a Best Actress-Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Bleak House as well as Emmy and BAFTA nominations.
Her films include The Mighty, Playing by Heart, Princess Mononoke (voice of Moro the Wolf), The House of Mirth, The Mighty Celt, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, The Last King of Scotland, Straightheads (aka Closure), How to Lose Friends and Alienate People (coming soon), and Boogie Woogie (no release date yet).
The X-Files Movie #2 is scheduled to be released in July 25, 2008.
